A spoken word poem performed by Joy Buolamwini, accompanied by images of historically important black women which are analysed by image recognition algorithms that identify them as "male", "clean shaven man", "gentleman", etc. The poem speaks of these womens' importance, and of the meaning of the machines not being able to see them for what they are or were.Â
