Young adult novel about Lia Kahn, a rich and privilegedĀ seventeen-year-old who is almost killed in a car accident. When her body cannot be saved, her parents decide to download her brain and insert it into a robotic body. The novel explores her wrestling with her new identity as "skinned", in a world where "skinners" is the derogatory term for what she has become.Ā
The novel was relaunched in 2011 with a new title, "Frozen", and is now the first book in a trilogy.
