Beforeigners (drone kills Navn)

Brief description

Navn is a stone-age immigrant to contemporary Oslo who has married a celebrity blogger ("Steinalderfruen"), runs a crime ring and lives in a large home by the woods. As in a previous scene, he is shown naked, in the woods, hunting a rabbit. He picks up a stone and pulls his arm back to throw it, taking aim at the rabbit. A drone is heard above, and he looks up to see a large, military drone. There is a cut, to the drone's point of view, which is a green-tinted image, more like video game graphics than standard video, and showing Navn looking upwards. We see a shot of Navn, naked, from the side, as he is peppered by bullets, his body staggering as he falls. Then finally, we see the drone's eye view, green as before.

Notes
The idyllic nature of the scene before the drone arrives is striking - the natural hunter, the quiet forest. And yet the drone is also a hunter, and placed very clearly as a parallell to Navn. Navn picks up the stone and targets the rabbit. The drone targets Navn. Each aims to kill - but the drone kills Navn before he has time to kill the rabbit. The forest around them is quiet and vast - and we see it both from Navn and the rabbit's perspective, and from the perspective of the drone, as it flies towards its target. When we see the footage of the forest from above, we realize, I suppose, that it must be shot by a drone, but it is not until we (and Navn) hear the drone, and Navn looks up (with the camera) to see the drone that we realize that the footage we saw was shot by a diegetic drone, as it were, by a drone that is actually part of the story and not just a camera angle. This seeing with the drone is interesting.
